Life at MINOA is simple and independent. The ordinary things are part of the experience too.
A car is necessary for everyday life. Drive slowly on the access road and come with a car in good condition. Nunziata is about 5 minutes away, Piedimonte about 10 minutes and Mascali about 15 minutes.
Those who live here take care of the ordinary day-to-day things: the house, small routine tasks and the animals. The dogs and hens naturally become part of everyday life.
There is good Wi-Fi and plenty of quiet space for remote work, writing and longer stays. There is no fibre connection.
MINOA changes with the seasons. In winter, the first house is particularly comfortable because of its very effective wood-burning stove. The other house is equipped with an efficient heat pump.
Summer life moves outdoors. Mosquitoes are part of Mediterranean life, but no more so here than elsewhere; plug-in diffusers are generally enough. Some of the property's less visible animal visitors are mainly seen at night.
MINOA is not offered as a conventional holiday rental. Those who stay here are asked to contribute towards the running costs of the property and to take part in the ordinary care of the place. The practical details can be discussed together.
MINOA will not necessarily suit everyone — and that is part of the idea.
